Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies
Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup room temperature margarine or butter
1 cup granulated sugar + 1/4 cup for topping
1 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups white baking flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
First preheat your oven to 325ยบ. Now gather all needed ingredients including two bowls. In the first bowl combine your flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and set aside. Now cream together your margarine, sugar and brown sugar until well combined. Then add your eggs and vanilla extract and mix this until combined. Now you will start adding your flour mixture gradually mixing it until you have no more flour mixture.
Once you have your mixture finished start rolling into 1 - 2 inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Once you have enough on your baking sheet take a fork dip it in the 1/4 cup sugar you set aside earlier and press the fork onto cookie being careful not to smash the cookie to thin, then press the fork the opposite direction making the peanut butter cookie pattern.
Now your ready to bake your cookies. This is the hard part for me to explain because I do not use timers. Due to ovens heating that varies I bake by feel. Start by baking your cookies for 5 - 6 minuets gently touch the cookie it should feel a little firm but you do not want it to feel hard or be browning around the edges if you pull them out once they just start feeling firm you will have a nice chewy cookie. Place on wire rack to cool. Once cooled enjoy your cookie.
Crafting with #AirheadsCrafts
My family Received a variety of Airheads Candy for FREE to use in a craft project and we decided to use them on the shortbread cookies during our Christmas baking.

Cream together butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Once ingredients are mixed well start mixing in flour a little bit at a time until well blended and all flour is used. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350° roll shortbread dough into 1 inch balls place on baking sheet and slightly flatten with your thumb. Bake for 6 to 7 minuets or until slightly firm to the touch you do not want these browned. Remove from baking sheet onto wire rack to cool. Once completely cooled enjoy or you may decide to decorate them with frosting and decorations.
We decided to do two projects out of the #AirheadCrafts and shortbread cookies.
For the first decorating project we put a whole in the center top of cookie this should be a big enough hole to fit say a piece of string through.
Then we frosted and decorated them how we wanted out Shortbread cookie ornaments to look. Of course we all had our differences some used Airheads Extremes, some used Airheads Bites, some used Airheads, and some had a mixture. Below are a few of our creations.
For our Second decorating project we decided to do a shout out to #AirheadsCrafts for the great products they sent us to review and use.
